Jeremy Scott x Adidas

When I first heard of this particular collaboration, I was eager to see what Jeremy Scoot was going to create for Adidas. Jeremy Scott is all about fun and originality and Adidas is all about performance and style, so this seemed to be a great temporary fashion marriage. From Scott, you can expect anything, from 5-feet blonde wigs to over the top, almost ridiculous get-ups coming down the runway. I love the fact that he always tries to put his own personality and aesthetic into his work, and you can witness that when you watch his shows during Paris fashion week. From what I seen in his past shows, Jeremy never takes himself too seriously as so many other designers do. He strives for innovation and is always thinking about his celebrity costumers such as Madonna and Katy Perry. 

A while ago, I saw a sneak peak of the footwear collection, which is part of the collaboration between these two iconic brands/figures in fashion. I was impressed by the first shoe design which feature a huge adidas logo on the tongue of the shoe with a wing flaunting on the side of the sneaker, I thought that was a brilliant idea, something that I never seen before, very dramatic, very adidas, very Jeremy. So I guess that was foreshadowing of what was bout to come in the apparel department, eccentric and energetic but stylish pieces that can be worn to the gym or a day out with your peeps. The cheetah print track-suit can be a bit too much, but it can sure brighten up your day, as well as those purple and yellow high tops, which won't go unnoticed wherever you go. The oversize white tee with the big zipper printed on the front is actually one of my favorite pieces from the collection. It has this playful personality and most importantly it needs no introduction, you can consider it a conversation starter. Also, that black basketball jersey top with fringe is genius, it may not work for everybody, but it's truly creative and very exciting, it's just not "another" top, now it's a Jeremy Scott and Adidas top.

Moreover, I feel this was a successful collaboration. It has the true soul of Adidas with a playful JS twist to it. It's sporty, stylish, with a huge splash of personality coming from both parties. I hope we can see more collaboration coming from high-end designers like JS with more affordable brands such as Adidas. I think it gives the fashion-conscious costumers a new outlook on how to dress and how to spend their money wisely in great products, especially in this rough times, if you want to be a good "reccesionista-fashionista".
